👫 Community 🟢 Utopia 🟡 Turbulence
Why it matters
Birth rates keep falling in many places. Choosing to have kids is a vote that humans—not the machines we build—stay in charge of the world.
Spark
Our first child arrived before I’d even heard the term “population collapse.” Since then I’ve come across many pieces convincing me of the seriousness of the issue.
How it helps if the future’s good (🟢)
• More bright, caring minds to invent art, science, and community projects the machines can’t imagine.
• Real people to care, create, and lead—ensuring abundance isn’t run entirely by robots or algorithms.
How it helps if the future’s a roller-coaster (🟡)
• Bigger peer groups keep schools, shops, and local votes alive even as jobs change.
• A stronger web of relatives and neighbors to lean on when times get rough.
